As deputy general secretary, Hector has been responsible for AFSC’s overall diversity and inclusion strategy, implementing a new safety and security program, and improving organization-wide operations and systems. Prior to joining AFSC in 2013, Hector served as chief diversity officer and vice president for strategic community engagement for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. His work has been credited with strengthening the organization's ability to engage communities of color in serving children facing adversity.

Sayrah Namaste has been on staff at the AFSC New Mexico program since 2007. In her 15 years at AFSC she has helped create a farmer training program, a farm to school program, a farm to preschool project, and incubated 3 farmer cooperatives.
