Violette is a schoolteacher in her community in Burundi. She teaches her students about the need for peaceful coexistence, helping them understand why it’s important to promote dialogue and resolve conflicts without violence. Her hope is that her students will contribute to a future where all Burundians can thrive in safety and lasting peace.   

We know we are stronger when we work together—bringing together people from different places and different races. For the U.S. to be a place where everyone can thrive, we cannot let politicians divide us based on what someone looks like, where they come from, or how much money they have. 

For more than 100 years, AFSC has advocated for a more just, peaceful future for all. We have demanded leaders deliver better health care, schools, and jobs—not more money for weapons, war, and corporate defense contractors.
