Amanda is a Human Rights practitioner with a PhD in Education and founder of the Human Rights movement in Colombia and Latin America. She has served to Civil Society organizations for over 40 years doing trainings and networking on social, economic and cultural rights. Amanda served for six years with the AFSC from Colombia and during that time, she joined the CSOS committee advising the United Nations Development Program Global Administrator.

Gail has been an activist all her adult life. Gail has done peace building and communication work on the Arab-Israeli Palestinian conflict as a staff member and committee Clerk for AFSC.  She has served on numerous Boards including Grassroots International, JDRF, and FMEP.

I describe myself as a Development and Peace facilitator. A none quaker with Quaker values. Having gone through the relevant trainings in peace and development.  Later on, I ran a development and peace programs for NGOs. I have also worked for AFSC in Mozambique. I now teach development studies where I oversee Peace and Conflict Resolution unit introduced in the bachelor’s program and a master’s degree in Peace Building and Conflict Transformation. I hold a Master of Philosophy degree in Development studies and a PhD in Gender and Development Studies.
