It’s RJ week 2025! Here are a few pieces of media to engage with during this week:
Little Book of Restorative Justice, 2002 - by Howard Zehr. This is a great read to the introductory elements of the RJ process. This is easy to get as an online version, or find at your local library in print, digital, or audiobook!
Podcast - RJ is everywhere and is happening now - in the Bay Area and all over the world! Here is a link to a podcast sharing regularly updated information about Restorative Justice and Practices happening. The most recent episode features Bay Area RJ Practices. Have a listen here: RJ with Shilpa Jain
A great short clip to listen about First Nations people bringing Indigenous peacemaking back to their communities: Indigenous Peacemaking
As you engage with the media above, stay on the lookout for the AFSC California Healing Justice RJ toolkit coming soon. It will highlight other pieces of fun media along with stories of RJ happening in the community -- along with firsthand accounts of folks who have experienced RJ in some version.
“Models are culture-bound. So restorative justice should be built from the bottom up “ Howard Zehr, Little Book of Restorative Justice
