Omar Ponce is a program officer with AFSC in El Salvador. He has a degree in health education from the University of El Salvador. From the age of 14, he has participated in organized youth groups and in political advocacy spaces at the municipal level as a youth representative. In addition, he has led youth groups at the local and municipal level.
The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) seeks a seasoned humanitarian who deeply understands our mission and values to lead a dedicated 3–6-month transition team to support a shift from short-term emergency relief to longer-term relief and recovery. This includes creating the infrastructure for the Rebuilding Gaza Volunteer Program. This is a Consultant position based in Gaza that could become long term. The Gaza program is vital to support recovery efforts following the recent cease-fire, providing critical and rebuilding infrastructure.
