In 2025, Congress passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which made the largest ever cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. These cuts will cause thousands of preventable deaths each year as people lose access to healthcare. And without food assistance, millions more will struggle to put food on the table.   

Instead of investing in human needs, the government is funding more tax cuts for the rich, a bloated military budget, and ICE detention and deportation.  

The position provides executive administrative support to the Associate General Secretary for International Programs (AGS IP), who provides overall leadership and management for AFSC’s international portfolio, ensuring that regional and thematic strategies are bold, coherent, fiscally responsible, and grounded in AFSC’s mission and values.

There are currently three Quaker UN Representatives at QUNO New York, including the Director.  This Representative position functions as a senior member of the QUNO team, sharing program responsibilities while also taking particular care for QUNO outreach efforts, as well as the QUNO Program Assistant program. Their principal responsibilities include: taking a lead role in developing and implementing work on QUNO program plans and entry points in collaboration with QUNO program partners; leading QUNO outreach efforts with Quaker Meeting
