Resisting Authoritarianism, Building Community
Imani Cruz/AFSC
We all deserve to live in safety and peace and have our rights respected.
But today, the Trump administration is undermining democracy and harming our communities. It is violently detaining and deporting immigrants. It is conducting illegal military attacks. It is defying court orders. And it is threatening anyone who speaks out. In addition, activists and journalists are being surveilled and attacked.
This is authoritarianism: consolidating power, scapegoating vulnerable communities, and silencing dissent.
As a Quaker organization, AFSC has long stood with movements resisting oppression. History shows that when people organize together, we win.
This moment calls us to act again. We must double down on our efforts to protect one another. And we must refuse and resist injustice and to build something new. Join us now in building the just, peaceful world we know is possible.
