August Funk is the current McConnell Fellow with AFSC’s Chicago Peace Building program. They are a lifelong resident of the Chicagoland area and a current student at Northeastern Illinois University. They have spent the past eight years working to support young people's emotional, social, and political wellbeing through youth work and organizing. When they aren't busy organizing for a world without police, prisons or war, they love to spend time with their friends and family making music, cooking a meal, or swimming in Lake Michigan!
