My name is Maddy - and this is my emotional support pup, Dawson. When I am not spending time adventuring in nature with her, I enjoy being around creative minds. One of my passions is to address inequalities wherever I go. I speak my truth and encourage others to do the same. Tattoos, chocolate, and words of affirmation are my love languages. Really enjoying the Healing Justice work I'm part of as the Ron Berman Fellow with SAFE (Students Accelerating Fiercely Everyday) in the Twin Cities!

Migrant children should be welcomed to the U.S. with dignity and compassion. They should be provided with a safe, nurturing environment that promotes their well-being.

But right now, the federal government is planning to open a detention center for migrant children in Greensboro, North Carolina. Many of the children who would be locked up there have fled violence and poverty and are seeking asylum in the U.S.
