Danielle (they/she) is a Zapotec documentary filmmaker and human rights researcher from Oaxaca, México. They are a graduate from UC Berkeley–where they received their B.A. in Ethnic Studies in 2022, and where they began their training investigating human rights violations in the context of human mobility and Latin America using open-source research.
As part of the US-Mexico Border Program, Danielle’s role is to witness, document, and analyze the conditions experienced by asylum-seeking, migrant peoples in Open Air Detention Sites (OADS) and under Border Patrol custody in the San Diego border region. Weaved into her work is Danielle's passion for collectively envisioning and building borderless worlds.
