Chia-Chia Wang served as the Co-Director for AFSC’s Immigrant Rights Program overseeing organizing and advocacy projects. She supported staff in various campaigns including TPS permanent residency, #FreeThemAll, DefundHate, anti-detention and enforcement policies at local and federal level, and immigrants’ access to benefits and services. Chia-Chia specializes in anti-detention and immigration enforcement policies and is committed to immigrant leadership development. Chia-Chia and her team in NJ led many groundbreaking laws and policies in NJ that effectively reduced prison profiteering and put an end to immigration detention in NJ. Before joining AFSC many years ago, Chia-Chia worked for Children’s Defense Fund in NY supporting immigrant and low-income families and children in NY. She is an immigrant from Taiwan and is raising a multicultural family in the NY and NJ area.
