Hawaii Is a Paradise, but Whose?

A growing number of Hawaiians say that tourism isn’t working for them. Tourist resorts promise jobs for locals, but often create few jobs, or do not provide a living wage, and are often owned and run by non-Hawaiians. With more tourists interested in "experiencing local life" DeTours, alternative tours from the perspective of local Hawaiians can show guests the deep historic ways military life is hidden across the island.
