Diego Binuya

Diego Binuya is a young queer Filipino student and community organizer from the Seattle area. A junior at Garfield High School, Diego has built and held community with other young folks in their school to create spaces such as the Pilipinx Student Association as well the Black and Brown Arts and Music collective.

As part of the anti-racist and national-democratic movement, Diego has been organizing with Youth Undoing Institutionalized Racism and Anak Bayan since 2017. For Diego, building and struggling with a community rooted in radical healing practices is a way for them to explore their own identity and develop the collective practice of revolutionary self love.

While holding the principles of their analysis central, Diego can also be found writing poetry, taking photos with friends, and thrifting around the city for pieces to add to their closet. Diego is a passionate and militant young organizer who is devoted to building and growing a liberated world beyond their wildest dreams and is super excited and honored to be able to participate in shaping that world with their fellow Youth in Action members!
