Demand the release of immigrant detainees at the Elizabeth Detention Center (EDC)

The American Friends Service Commmittee plans to launch #FreeEDC, a new campaign that builds on a recent class action lawsuit demanding the release of all immigrant detainees at the Elizabeth Detention Center (EDC), a private facility run by CoreCivic. #FreeEDC will connect to and work in tandem with the #FreeThemAll national movement.

Campaign objectives:

- No immigrants are detained at the Elizabeth Detention Center;
- Support detainees and recently released detainees and their families to fight for their rights;
- Raise awareness about the negative impacts of immigration detention and unsafe conditions during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic;
- Expand community support for detainees and their releases;
- Build solidarity with other #FreeThemAll campaigns across the country.

Act now by following our list of actions outlined in the organizing toolkit that demands EDC must shut its doors and release all its detainees. Help us renew the demand for immediate action!
