Coronavirus updates Friday: Oregon has uptick in cases; 18 more in Lane County

There were 423 new cases of COVID-19 in Oregon and nine new deaths announced Friday by the Oregon Health Authority. It is the highest number of new cases of the novel coronavirus since July 19 and the highest number of new deaths since July 28. The state has had 20,636 cases of COVID-19 and 348 deaths. Lane County Public Health reported 18 additional positive cases for COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 570 cases in Lane County. Four people in the county are currently hospitalized with the coronavirus, and 38 are considered infectious
