On October 20, 2019, AFSC Chicago volunteers, donors and staff gathered at Alhambra Palace Restaurant for AFSC's annual fundraising event.
The festivities included a silent auction, AFSC bingo game, and reviews of AFSC's Palestine Israel Program by staff Jennifer Bing and Jehad Abusalim, and its Peacebuilding Program with staff Mary Zerkel and Debbie Southorn. The Arab American Action Network (AAAN), shown above, which strives to strengthen the Arab community in the Chicago area by building its capacity to be an active agent for positive social change. As a grassroots nonprofit, AAAN's strategies include community organizing, advocacy, education, providing social services, leadership development, cultural outreach and forging productive relationships with other communities.

Worldview. For 25 years WBEZ aired the mid-day radio program Worldview with host Jerome McDonnell. Worldview was a show about how race, ethnicity, gender, identity, the environment, religion, politics and economics drive and shape the news. Jerome and his production team, including senior producer Steve Bynum, often featured guests from AFSC as they connected international news with global activism, including activism in Chicago. Jennifer Bing offered these words of gratitude to Worldview's staff.
Brant Rosen, who will soon conclude five years of service with AFSC as Regional Director of the Midwest Region, shared these closing remarks and encouraged people to support AFSC's dynamic work in Chicago.
