Artwork #6: “Education as a Universal Responsibility”

By Kang Puthpech Ponleu

This artwork conveys that education is not the responsibility of just one person or institution, but a shared mission involving communities, countries, families, schools, and global society to nurture capable and upright individuals for a stronger future.

Symbolic Elements in the Artwork:

  • The Globe represents global collaboration, emphasizing that people and institutions around the world must unite to promote quality education for the next generation.
  • The Cambodian Flag shaped like the number one symbolizes victory, pride, and Cambodia’s active commitment to education on the international stage.
  • Victorious children holding books and the globe reflect youth receiving education and preparing to give back to society and their nation.
  • The drifting rumduol flower (Cambodia’s national flower) symbolizes the spread of Khmer culture, traditions, and values across the world.
  • Traditional artistic patterns (such as floral or Khmer design elements) express the vitality of education through art and culture, helping preserve identity and social cohesion.
