Artwork #4: “More Than a Dream”

By Eng Sreyleap

A young girl who treated books as her best friend. Her drawings were never considered beautiful, and she was once mocked for her skin color. She had simple dreams, just like other girls: to be happy, to have a decent job, to have friends who understand her, to travel the world freely, and to become someone who is useful to society.

Time moved quickly. That same girl who was once looked down on fought hard and completed her education. Her journey reflects the value of education across generations, education that teaches people to follow moral paths, to respect rights, and to value one another. These are the principles that lead people to success.

Her efforts in learning were not easy; it required all her physical and mental strength.
She grew up full of potential and talent, which she had cultivated from a young age.
Her love for learning and her curiosity about stars and planets helped her achieve the dreams she once imagined as a child.

She is now like a bird, flying freely with rights and freedom, just like the Romduol flower, Cambodia’s national flower. And deep within, she is like a lily, representing purity.

Her success shows that anyone can achieve their dreams, anyone who studies and strives with effort, guided by compassion, respect, and a deep appreciation for those around them.
