Bringing relief to displaced Palestinians in the West Bank

In recent months, AFSC and partners have provided food, medicine, and essential supplies to more than 1,000 displaced Palestinians in Tulkarm.

Since the start of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023, Israeli violence has also escalated across the occupied West Bank. In the Palestinian city of Tulkarm, Israeli military attacks have forced more than 25,000 people from their homes and its refugee camps.

Thanks to supporters like you, AFSC has been responding with humanitarian relief for displaced families.

In November and December, we provided 300 displaced families—1,053 peoplewith food, medicine, electricity support, and vital assistance. Working in partnership with the Palestinian communities we serve and in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development to ensure that we reached those most in need.

We have provided:

  • 291 families with food parcels.
  • 144 families with essential medicines.
  • 66 families with electricity.
  • 50 families with heavy winter blankets.
  • 48 families with hygiene supplies.

This support comes at a critical time. Over the past two years, Israeli forces have attacked Tulkarm more than 66 times. Hundreds of homes and shops have been demolished. Streets and other public infrastructure have been nearly destroyed. Refugee camps have been emptied. Displaced families have had to take refuge in schools, mosques, and relatives' homes.

The Israeli government has also imposed a blockade on the West Bank and revoked permits for Palestinians. This has created severe economic hardship, making it nearly impossible for people to support themselves and their families.

As a Quaker organization, AFSC opposes violence in all its forms and works to address its root causes. We have been working in Palestine since 1948, guided by our commitment to peace, justice, and human dignity.

The crisis in the West Bank is ongoing.  AFSC will continue to work with our partners to reach displaced communities in the West Bank who are affected by Israeli state violence.

Your support makes this work possible. The people of Tulkarm know they are not forgotten. Thank you for standing with Palestinian communities.
