Florida Policy Coordinator

AFSC Florida’s Policy Coordinator will bring the organized voice of impacted communities to bear in efforts to achieve policy-related goals and objectives through direct advocacy with the federal government, the Florida state government and various multilateral institutions. As Florida's political landscape becomes more anti-immigrant this position will impact policy and decision makers to deter harmful policies and support organizing to recognize the full human rights of immigrants coming to Florida. This position coordinates closely with AFSC Florida staff, thematic leads, policy directors and others to craft and carry out advocacy initiatives on AFSC’s priority issues.

The Policy Coordinator serves an ongoing role in working with staff engaged in migration work to formulate priorities and to advance policy change goals within our organization-wide strategies on migration. The Policy Coordinator also works to amplify our capacity for coordinated grassroots mobilization to impact national, federal and local policy, and to build staff skills and capacity for local and state advocacy with support from across the organization.
