The city of Atlanta wants to build a $90 million police training facility. If constructed, “Cop City” would be one of the largest militarized police training centers in the country—all built by destroying a vital urban forest.
AFSC is part of a coalition of organizations that launched a referendum campaign to allow voters to decide the fate of Cop City. On Sept. 11, 2023, we submitted more than 116,000 voter signatures to the city—nearly double the number required for a referendum! Now our coalition is working to hold the city to a fair process.
