"Alternatives," presents the position of the conscientious objector to young people facing selective service. Produced jointly by AFSC and other religious peace organizations, the film describes the three positions a C.O. may take: alternative civilian service, non-combatant military duty or the non-registrant position. "Alternatives" is narrated by Don Murray, a Brethren C.O. and well-known actor. The film combines drawings with live action sequences of C.O.'s performing alternative service.
