Although I was born and raised in western South Dakota, I’ve lived, worked, and studied in Colorado, Panama, Germany, and Washington D.C., among other locations, which has contributed greatly to my understanding of differences and helped develop my worldview. I now live with my husband in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where I am a member of Yardley Friends Meeting. I earned a BS in Marketing and MS in Finance from the University of Colorado, and while working for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, I gained experience in corporate formation, finance, and law while simultaneously earning a Healthcare Administration MBA from Temple University. I have more than 30 years of senior care and acute healthcare management experience, including as the Nursing Home Administrator at Chandler Hall (a Quaker-affiliated continuing care retirement community in Newtown, Pennsylvania, where I was introduced to Quaker beliefs). Before retiring, I served on the Board and then later as the CEO of Friends Village in Newtown, a retirement community started by Quakers in 1897 and continuing today with a Quaker-affiliation. I am a long-time Trustee of Friends Foundation for the Aging; a Quaker foundation focused on supporting healthy aging. I also served as the treasurer for Immigrant Rights Action, a Bucks County-based nonprofit advocating for and supporting new immigrants to our area. In addition to English, I am conversant in German, and working on improving my Spanish acquired when I lived in Panama.
