Mike Merryman-Lotze serves as AFSC's Just Peace Global Policy Director. As a member of the Global Policy and Strategy Department, Mike leads AFSC’s global peace building policy work, supporting both US and International staff and programs.
Prior to taking up this position, Mike worked with AFSC for 13 years coordinating the organization’s Israel-Palestine and Middle East policy and advocacy work. Before joining AFSC, Mike spent a decade working on human rights and development programs across the Middle East including with Save the Children UK in Palestine, and with Partners Global on programs in Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, and throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
He has appeared in many news outlets, including Al Jazeera, Mondoweiss, Centre for Research on Globalization, +972, and Middle East Eye.
Mike received his BS in International Politics from Earlham College and his MA in International Relations with a focus on Conflict Management from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins.
