Caren Marshall grew up in a rural Quaker community near Jericho Friends Meeting near Winchester, Indiana. The Quaker history of her parents and grandparents influenced her pursuit of A Master’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana University to pursue a career in service to others. A post graduate role included 5 years as Medical Social Consultant with the Indiana Department of Public Welfare followed by a 22-year career as the CEO of a nonprofit that combined the organizations of Goodwill Industries and Easter Seals. The organization served children and adults with disabilities through therapies, education and job. Caren’s experience involved creating new departments for fund development, human resources and finance and the creation of five new facilities. Caren served in leadership positions on the boards of Goodwill Industries International and its Council of Executives as well as local boards with Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. She was a founding member of the Southern Indiana Women’s Foundation. Caren is also a Certified Health Coach. She has served America Friends Service Committee through various committees for Stewardship, Investment, Governance Practices and Policies, Standing Nominating Committee and as Clerk of the Audit Committee.
