Caren Marshall grew up in a Quaker community near Jericho Friends Church, Winchester, Indiana where she retains her Quaker membership. The Quaker history of her parents and ancestors influenced her pursuit of a master's degree in social work from Indiana University. Her career included a medical social consultant role with the Indiana State Department of Public Welfare and a 30-year role as CEO of a combined Easter Seals and Goodwill Industries organization serving people with disabilities. Caren served in leadership positions with the Goodwill Industries International Board of Directors and it’s Council of Executives as well as on local boards with Rotary, Chambers of Commerce and Soroptimist International. She was a founding member of the Southern Indiana Women’s Foundation. She previously served on AFSC’s Stewardship Committee and the Investment Committee. Caren’s non-profit corporate expertise includes Strategic Planning, Funding and Revenue Acquistion, Non-Profit Marketing Solutions, Program Development and Evaluation and Team Leadership Training. In retirement, Caren became a Certified Wellness Coach. She enjoys outings with her daughter and three foster children and their families.
