OAKLAND, CA (February 11, 2026) – Today the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) unveiled a new tool that maps the locations of institutions, investors, and political figures connected to Palantir. Palantir is a tech and weapons company that uses artificial intelligence to weaponize data. The controversial corporation has come under public scrutiny because of its role in facilitating deportations, military strikes, and mass surveillance. The map allows activists, journalists, and researchers to see what institutions near them have connections to Palantir.

While doing the research for this project, AFSC discovered Palantir ties with major institutions that have been under reported. This includes Johns Hopkins University, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and hospital networks across the country. Notable investors include the California State Teachers Retirement System, the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, and the South Korean National Pension Service. Access the map here.

“We created this map because people deserve to know that their hospitals and schools are working with Palantir, or their pension funds are invested in the corporation enabling mass deportation,” said Kenny Morris, campaign strategist for AFSC’s Action Center for Corporate Accountability and one of the lead researchers in the campaign against Palantir. “Systems that profit from violence and dehumanization have no place in our schools, our hospitals, or our society. That’s why we are working to expose Palantir and urge institutions to divest or end their contracts.”

The map was created by AFSC researchers based on data they obtained through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public sources. AFSC’s research team submitted 83 public records requests over two months for ties to the company. They also analyzed press releases, company presentations, and tax filings to identify other Palantir customers. Research on Palantir’s political donations came from the Palantir Payroll database.

Built with CIA funding to support the U.S. “war on terror,” Palantir helps Israel plan its attacks in civilians in Gaza and Lebanon, works closely with the U.S. military, and fuels ICE’s deportation machine by vacuuming up massive amounts of data collected by governments and corporations and making that data usable.

For ICE, it tracks known addresses, phone numbers, tax records, driving records, credit history, immigration history, health records, social media presence, and more. Palantir’s AI algorithm connects all this data in one gigantic dataset and analyzes it—looking for patterns, “predicting” where someone who overstayed their visa might be. Palantir’s tools have fueled some of the largest raids on immigrant communities in ICE’s history.

AFSC is working with a collective of immigrant rights groups, Palestine solidarity organizations, environmental justice advocates, labor unions, and many others as part of the Purge Palantir campaign. These organizations are calling on individuals and community groups to put pressure on universities, hospitals, and other institutions to cut all ties to Palantir.

This grassroots pressure is already working. Multiple politicians over the last few months have donated campaign contributions they received from Palantir and its leadership to local immigrant rights groups.

“When local organizations focus on the institutions in their own communities that have ties to Palantir, we have a real opportunity to curtail the growth and influence of this mass surveillance machinery that supports the deportations of our neighbors and violence around the world,” said Kenny Morris.
