Bringing relief and hope to displaced families in the West Bank

In the occupied West Bank, thousands of Palestinian families face the devastating consequences of displacement. Israeli military operations and settler violence have forced them to leave their homes, separating them from the places and communities they once knew. Many now struggle to meet their most basic daily needs. 

Thanks to supporters like you, some of these families have received urgent assistance to help them navigate these difficult circumstances. 

Earlier this year, AFSC and locals provided humanitarian support to 640 families displaced from Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps. Families received vouchers that allowed them to purchase food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and other essential items. 

This support is urgently needed. Israeli military operations have escalated since early 2025, displacing tens of thousands of Palestinians from their homes in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps. Many families continue to live with damaged housing, restrictions on their movement, limited access to basic services, and growing economic hardship.

Rather than distributing pre-selected items, AFSC and partners provided vouchers that families could use for their most urgent needs. This approach respects the dignity and choices of families.  

Some families used their vouchers to purchase food and essential household supplies. Others prioritized medicine, hygiene products, and personal care items for children, elderly family members, or people with health conditions. And because the vouchers were redeemed at local shops and suppliers, the assistance also supported local businesses.  

Amid uncertainty and displacement, the vouchers provided more than material support for many families. They offered a sense of relief, dignity, and reassurance that families had not been forgotten. 

Even in the most difficult circumstances, timely support can make a meaningful difference for so many families facing the unimaginable. With your continued partnership, more displaced families can receive the assistance they need to meet their basic needs, strengthen their resilience, and move forward with hope.
