The Pan Valley Institute (PVI) ArteVism Program seeks to strengthen the agency and voice of youth of color in advancing more inclusive policies, advocating for the rights of immigrants, Indigenous peoples, women, and LGBTQ+ people, and confronting racism and discrimination in ways that lead to building thriving communities, climate, and economic justice.
The ArteVism Fellow, with the support of ArteVism Cultural Organizer and PVI staff, will participate in the work to expand PVI's capacity to engage a broader public beyond a small cohort of fellows in the critical work of using art and culture to address pressing public problems. Alongside the Cultural Organizer, the Fellow will participate and learn to curate and stage creative public programming that emerged as critical during the ArteVism fellowship experience. The ArteVism Fellow, with the support of the Cultural Organizer, will bring new skills and creative approaches to the ongoing work of PVI and will transition ArteVism’s previously internal focus to be more community-facing.
