Join the Call to #FreeThemAll

Everyone deserves dignity and justice. But in the United States, 1.8 million people are locked away in prisons, jails, and detention centers because of racist law enforcement, and a legal system whose only solution is violence and confinement.
When the pandemic began and disproportionately harmed incarcerated people, we mobilized under the banner of #FreeThemAll, working to get as many people out of prisons, jails, and detention centers as possible. In New York and New Jersey, we successfully advocated for policy changes that led to the immediate release of hundreds of people. We also helped pass legislation to phase out immigrant detention in New Jersey and ban private prisons and detention centers in Washington.
But our work is not over as long as many more people remain behind bars. Join AFSC and partners in working for a future without prisons, jails, and detention centers.
