Expression of Interest to Host: “Why We Record: Defying Erasure and Fragmentation in Palestine”

Thank you for your interest in hosting “Why We Record: Defying Erasure and Fragmentation in Palestine".

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) and Visualizing Palestine (VP) have curated an exhibit that highlights Palestinian experience with 1) displacement, 2) forced fragmentation, and 3) return and future visioning. Utilizing VP visuals, photos and excerpts from published stories collected by AFSC, the exhibit is meant to contextualize, educate, and inspire those familiar with, and those new to, Palestinian narratives.

Completing this form does not obligate you to organize an exhibit, but it lets us know of your interest and enables you to download the curated exhibit materials.

Thank you for your efforts to organize, engage, and uplift stories about Palestine to audiences near you.

Questions? Contact the AFSC and VP teams at: vpexhibit@afsc.org

Sincerely,

The AFSC and the VP Team

In what kind of space will you host the exhibition?
If logistically possible, would you want to sell copies of Visualizing Palestine and AFSC’s books at your exhibit?

Books Available to complement this exhibit from AFSC & VP:

  • Displaced in Gaza: Stories from the Gaza Genocide edited by Yousef M. Aljamal, Norma Hashim, Zoe Jannuzi, and Noor Nabulsi. Foreword by Ahmad Alnaouq

  • Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire edited by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, and Mike Merryman-Lotze

  • Visualizing Palestine: A Chronicle of Colonialism and the Struggle for Liberation edited by Jessica Anderson, Aline Batarseh, and Yosra El Gazzar

VP and AFSC are not able to cover exhibit costs. Please confirm that you will cover the costs of the exhibit.

For more information on cost, details are included on our website.

The exhibition is downloadable in three sizes, depending on your needs, budget, and space. All versions of the exhibition cover all three themes: 1) displacement, 2) forced fragmentation, and 3) return and future visioning. If you're not sure what size you're interested in, please see the FAQs on our website.

Upon receiving access to the materials on Google Drive, you agree to represent all three themes in your exhibit as they are grouped in each pack. You agree to use the title, “Why We Record: Defying Fragmentation and Erasure in Palestine” as well as all gallery materials and descriptions of the project.

By submitting this form, you agree to use the materials in this exhibit in full, without altering or omitting the materials you download. All materials are protected under the Creative Commons License. This means the materials can only be used for educational purposes, not for commercial use or for profit. This exhibit is thoughtfully created to showcase the rich history of Palestinians and the ongoing Nakba they face as well as articulating a liberatory future toward which movement leaders and allies are working. Thank you for your commitment to this vision. We are grateful for your time, effort, and resources to uplift these narratives.
