Asia Young People for Action (AYA)

The Asia Young People for Action (AYA) initiative fosters peer-to-peer learning, transformative experiences, and collective action on structural peace-related issues.

Struggles for power and resources across Southeast Asia often lead to human rights abuses, labor exploitation, and environmental degradation. Young people, however, are frequently excluded from decision-making due to hierarchical and patriarchal systems.

The AYA initiative empowers young leaders to reimagine possibilities, build confidence, and enhance their capabilities to effect meaningful change. AYA also promotes feminist leadership and strengthens regional cooperation.

Through skill-building workshops, collaborative projects, and participation in regional and global forums, AYA supports young people in tackling critical challenges and advancing peacebuilding efforts. By centering youth voices and actions, AYA demonstrates a commitment to social justice and equity, contributing significantly to transformative and sustainable peacebuilding in Asia.
