Climate Justice Consortium members worked diligently to develop a six-part webinar series aimed at broadening participants’ understanding of climate justice principles from multiple angles and providing them with the tools to integrate a climate justice approach into their work. The series offered a mid-level learning opportunity to selected students and professionals with previous experience working on climate change and environmental issues, who wanted to improve their understanding of current movements and developments in the region.

Approximately thirty attendees joined for the webinar series, bringing diverse experience from three countries: Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. Participants represented several fields and areas of expertise – NGO representatives, activists, researchers, academic faculty, students, engineers, lawyers, and ministry representatives – offering the opportunity for local actors across the region to connect with each other around their shared interests and work in pursuing climate justice.

Taking place from late August through early October 2024, each session featured presentations and in-depth discussions on various topics related to climate justice, led by local and regional experts from the region. The webinar series was conducted fully in Arabic, with English interpretation available. Upon successful completion, participants received a certificate confirming their active engagement in at least five out of six sessions.
