Dan Seeger is a retired non-for-profit administrator and organizational leader, and a Quaker religion and social issue writer.  In 1965 the Supreme Court, in the case of the case of The United States of America vs. Daniel A. Seeger, greatly expanded the religious qualifications for allowing pacifists exemption from military service on conscientious grounds.

Although educated as a physicist, Dan has spent most of his working life in the service of Friends organizations. He has served with AFSC in various roles, including regional director of AFSC's New York Metropolitan Regional Office, interim regional director in San Francisco, and interim general secretary. Dan also served as executive director of Pendle Hill, the Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation in Wallingford, Pennsylvania.

Dan has been active in the Friends World Committee for Consultation, and was presiding clerk at the World Conference of Friends in Kenya in 1991.  He has served on the boards of AFSC, Friends Seminary, Moorestown Friends School, the Bayard Rustin Fund, and the Center for Conscience and War.  He has been chairperson of the Township Planning Board of Lumberton, New Jersey. 

Dan writes frequently on subjects of interest to Friends, and his pamphlets and articles have been published by the Friends World Committee for Consultation, Friends United Meeting, Pendle Hill, the Quaker Universalist Fellowship, Quaker Religious Thought, Friends Journal, and Quaker Life.
