Jennifer Piper on work for immigrant rights

Chris Nelson of community radio station KZFR in Chico, CA interviews Jennifer Piper of AFSC Colorado about narratives around immigration and AFSC's work for immigrant rights.

(Chris's introduction of Piper begins after two minutes of music.)

Chris begins by asking for Piper's response to a recent New York Times analysis of immigration worldwide, the context for global migration, and the role the US plays in it. Piper goes on to share more about herself and her work for AFSC. She explains the legal differences between people with refugee status and other immigrants, including people seeking asylum. They also discuss the political dysfunction which prevents the adoption of policies that recognize the inherent dignity of all people.
