Hind Rajab was a 5-year-old girl who was killed in Gaza by the Israeli military, alongside her family and the paramedics who came to rescue her. Before she was killed, she spent hours on the phone with the Palestinian Red Crescent begging to be rescued. Her story is told in the documentary “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” which is nominated for an Oscar. Senators Welch and Van Hollen and Representatives Jacobs, Castro, and Jayapal introduced the “Justice for Hind Rajab” Act, which would require the U.S. government to take action to investigate her killing and hold those responsible to account.
