Crystal Thompkins is Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® and Certified Specialist in Planned Giving with over 20 years of experience in planned giving program management, Crystal brings a depth of expertise in nonprofit and family legacy planning. Crystal most recently served as Head of Philanthropic Solutions for BNY Mellon Wealth Management leading the national strategy and thought leadership for the firm’s philanthropic businesses. Crystal is also the Principal and Founder of TrueCrystal Consulting, a philanthropic consulting firm committed to helping Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) -led, BIPOC-serving organizations and allied funders create a legacy through endowment building utilizing gift planning, equity-focused governance practices, and inclusive succession planning.

Sayrah Namaste is the Program Co-Director of the American Friends Service Committee- New Mexico. In her 17 years at AFSC, she helped create a farmer training program, a farm to school program, a farm to food bank program, and incubated 3 farmer cooperatives. Sayrah was a boycott organizer for a farmworker union and has been a member of the Recuerda a Cesar Chavez Committee for 13 years, co-chairing it twice. She worked with farmers and teachers to create a School Garden Curriculum, co-wrote multiple training manuals as well as a curriculum about the farmworker movement for school children. She advocates for policies that support New Mexico’s water democracy, sustainable agriculture and healthy ecosystems.

Susan Shaw, LCSW, is a community organizer whose roots as a narrative family therapist were born out of her early activism for racial, social and economic justice. Susan co-founded several organizations including the North Bay Organizing Project (NBOP) and the Graton Day Labor Center (Centro Laboral de Graton). She has been supporting the American Friends Service Committee since 1980.
