Director of Global Safety & Security

The Director of Global Safety and Security leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive global security and risk mitigation strategy that protects AFSC personnel, facilities, and programs. They will foster a culture of security awareness and ensure that safety protocols align with industry standards and align with the organization's mission, values, and approach to engaging communities and partners. Reporting to the Deputy General Secretary, this position will actively consult and collaborate across the organization to support sustainable growth and ensure adaptive responses to evolving operating environments.

The Director of Global Safety and Security, in consultation with the Human Resources, Information Technology and Finance Departments, will ensure that AFSC staff have safety and security-related resources, benefits, services, and support as needed and/or in accordance with duty of care best practices. The Director of Global Safety and Security, with the support of the Deputy General Secretary, will be responsible for leading discussions and providing information to the AFSC Security Steering Committee and providing training, guidance, and/or safety and security-related updates to AFSC’s Regional and Program Directors and Security Focal Points.The Director of Global Safety and Security is also expected to serve as the primary point of contact for any security consultants, trainers, service providers, and questions and concerns regarding safety and security from AFSC personnel across the world.
