Jennifer Deibert is AFSC's Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) program director and is based in California. Jennifer is committed to seeking peace across divides and has over a decade of experience in peace building on the Korean peninsula. Before joining AFSC, Jennifer served with Mennonite Central Committee in Chuncheon, Republic of Korea in various positions, managing exchange programs in China and South Korea, development projects in China, and humanitarian programming in DPRK.
AFSC has a long history of involvement on the Korean peninsula with the first AFSC delegation to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in 1980. AFSC has most recently worked with farmers in the DPRK to increase yields on cooperative farms through testing new innovations. The current program activities focus on challenging the dehumanization of people in the DPRK and changing the narrative that militarization is the only response to tension in the region by providing alternative responses.
Jennifer is also a part time farmer growing organic heirloom vegetables near Reedley, California at The Vegetable Patch.
