PETITION: IMMIGRANTS MAKE OUR COMMUNITIES STRONGER

To: Kristi Noem, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Since its founding, the United States has drawn immigrants in search of a better life. Each generation has contributed to our communities as neighbors, friends, workers, people of faith, and more.

Today politicians are spreading fear, blaming immigrants for the challenges this country faces. But we don’t need armed government agents disrupting the peace and safety of our communities. We need fair and efficient procedures for people to come to the U.S. and build new lives.

I call on you to stop wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on immigrant detention and deportation. And I urge you to enact policies that treat all people with dignity and respect, no matter where they were born.
