Tell Congress to stop blocking lifesaving aid to North Korea

Everyone should have the food and medicine they need to live a healthy life. But today, U.S. sanctions on North Korea are preventing people from getting life-saving resources.  

Nearly 12 million people in North Korea urgently need food assistance. More than 45% of the population is undernourished.  

As a Quaker organization, AFSC believes that the obligation to relieve suffering does not stop at a border or bend to a political dispute. We’ve worked alongside North Korean farmers and health workers for four decades. American humanitarian organizations are ready to help, but our own government is standing in the way. 

Sens. Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren have introduced the Enhancing North Korea Humanitarian Assistance Act (S.5257), which would remove barriers to aid.  

Urge Congress to cosponsor this bill and allow critical aid to North Korea!
