But right now, Congress is debating a budget reconciliation bill that would slash essential programs like Medicaid and SNAP to fund military spending, mass deportations, and tax cuts for the rich.
This approach to government policy is backward. We should divest from programs that perpetuate violence and inequality. These resources must be redirected toward ensuring that every person can lead a dignified life.
Congress needs to hear us loud and clear: We need investments in food and medicine, not bombs!
