The Organizing and Advocacy Director is responsible for supervising and developing an advocacy team to create and lead campaigns in support of fair immigration policy at the local, state, and federal levels, and consistent with AFSC principles on immigration policy. They supervise the Immigrant Rights Program Community Organizers, Project Coordinators, the Social Work Supervisor, and interns, and provides leadership and planning support for the overall program. The Director will provide support and technical assistance on immigration policy issues, refining and expanding leadership training curriculum, organizing actions, and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and media; develop common goals and objectives among projects for organizing and base-building in New Jersey through meeting with committees and organizers; identify training needs and resources of the immigrant organizations and communities in the region; conduct presentations with AFSC perspective on immigration issues for the general public. The Director and team will engage potential allies to support a pro-immigrant agenda and will play a leadership role in the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice.
