Beyond prisons: A new interfaith paradigm for our failed prison system

Beyond prisons: A new interfaith paradigm for our failed prison system

Written in 2006 by AFSC's Laura Magnani and Harmon Wray, Beyond Prisons is a strong indictment of the current prison system. The book traces the history and features of our penal system, offers strong ethical and moral assessments, and lays out a whole new paradigm of criminal justice based on restorative practices and reconciliation. Magnani and Wray offer a truly radical analysis that penetrates to the roots of the crisis, challenges long-held assumptions, and imagines thoughtful alternatives.

The book can be purchased from Quaker Books, and a study guide is available for download below.
