Black History Month: Creating a History Wall of Logan

Black History Month: Creating a History Wall of Logan

Wednesday, January 30, 2013 - 8:00pm to 9:30pm

February is Black History Month, an opportunity to celebrate the hard won victories for civil rights and justice--and reflect on how far we’ve come both as a nation and as a community.

Please join the Believing All is Possible (BAPS) Youth Leadership Group and the Logan County Improvement League in the creation of…

A History Wall: The Great Journey of Logan

Your perspective, stories, and experiences are invaluable as we engage both young and old alike in a rich discussion. The History Wall will be on display at the Logan Area Public Library between January 30th and February 19th---so even if you cannot make it on January 30th, please stop in to view it and add your own memories.

 Objectives

  • To create a shared intergenerational picture of the history of civil rights and racial justice, both nationally and locally
  • To identify the gifts and challenges from the past and present that may affect our efforts to continue building a community united in common cause and shared destiny
