American Friends Service Committee, Indiana Youth Group and the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) will host a screening of Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin (83 min.): This powerful documentary chronicles the life of the Quaker, openly-gay civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, who is best known for organizing the 1963 March on Washington, D.C. A discussion following the film will be moderated by members of the Quaker community.

Thanks to all Kansas Citians who participated in the Occupy the Dream: Dr. King on Economic Justice and the Occupy Wall Street Movement forum on January 16. The event was powerful and engaged over 200 area residents in consideration of King’s call for economic justice, the civil rights movement and the Occupy movement.
