International Programs Unit Internships
AFSC currently sponsors peacebuilding and social justice programs in more than twenty countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, and the Middle East. The work of the International Programs Unit (IP) focuses on providing relief and reconstruction, training and support to local groups and movements, opportunities for dialogue, and peacebuilding/reconciliation. IP empowers ethnic minorities, women, the disabled, youth, and others who are marginalized or oppressed.
IP seeks interns who want to learn about peoples and communities around the world, and who are committed to working for social and economic justice.
Intern projects are based on the intern’s personal interests and the organization’s current needs. IP interns gain valuable experience and skills that will aid them in future nonprofit work. An internship with IP can open the door to the field of international development and connect interns with other individuals working for peace and social justice around the world
