Sacramento Bee Investigates Prison Abuses

The Sacramento Bee ran the first of two-part expose of abuses in California prisons' behavioral modification programs, on Sunday, May 9.

Reporter Charles Piller interviewed Laura Magnani, AFSC Healing Justice staffer, following publication two years ago of our "Buried Alive: Long-Term Isolation of California's Youth and Adult Prisons."  This week, AFSC Regional and National staff issued a press release calling for accountability in followup to the Bee's revelations.
