The work of the American Friends Service Committee in South East New England arises from the traditional Quaker witness in which it is rooted. While the AFSC embraces and welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds as partners in its work, we maintain close connections with the communities of Quakers throughout the world. Quakers, also known as the Religious Society of Friends, gather based on the deeply-held belief that there is that of God in every person, and that we are called to live as Patterns of the world of peace, hope, and justice we know is possible. AFSC in South East New England is especially connected to the meetings that make up the Sandwich and Smithfield Quarterly Meetings, roughly corresponding to our program area in South East Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Eastern Connecticut. Below are links to some of the communities of Quakers in South East New England that through their support and dedication make possible our work to build peace in our region, and in the world we share.
