AFSC’s Great Lakes Regional Office, located in Chicago, coordinates programs in Chicago, Northeast and Dayton, Ohio, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Programs in Chicago work for peace in Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel-Palestine, organize taxi drivers for civil and human rights, and offer alternatives to the military to young people. In Northeast Ohio, programs create positive responses to the economic crisis. In Dayton programs organize African refugees to advocate for their rights; and in Michigan, advocate for prisoners’ rights.
